Ordinary People, Ordinary Things

I grew up at a time when a particular tuesday night, your favourite soapie wouldn’t play. All that time and more would be dedicated to a program called ” Community Builder of the Year”.
The people who got recognition for their work we ordinary man and women and young people. They were not a special breed of people from mars, far from it.
Whether it was teaching others to plant a garden or taking care of the Aging, the Abandoned or the Sick. I’m sure that it was not for World Recognition, but a feeling of Fulfillment; that say, “I’ve contributed to this My Beautiful World”.

I say this because I now have a desire to do something for my community.

I met a guy this past weekend. The first impression I got of him, was to hold my handbag tight and walk away in the opposite direction. With people around us ofcourse he says “can you help me”? I say, “with what”?. His reply “take me out of my misey and put me in your heart”. We both ended up in laughter and talking away about so much more.

I walked away thinking its from the most ordinary man that you can learn about extraordinary things. From those you look down on or even suspect, that your day could be full of smiles. From the humble and lowly we could learn lessons of life.

So give people a chance.
